Franschhoek Wine Tram Festival of Lights

Come experience the magic of the festive season with Franschhoek Wine Tram!

Guests will arrive at the Franschhoek Terminal from 7:30 pm, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Food and drink options will be available to grab a bite to eat. A variety of cold drinks, hot drinks, toasties, coffee, and beignets (classic French pastries) will also be on offer from Café Beignet, situated at the Franschhoek Terminal. Guests will board the tram at their allocated booking time from 8:15 pm and will be taken on a 30-minute journey by double-decker tram. Along the way, guests will experience a specially choreographed festive light display on each side of the Tram tracks.

WhenThe Festival of Lights will take place between the nights of the 4th to the 21st of December 2023, and two tram rides will run between 8 pm and 9 pm each night. Due to the fact that seats are limited per night, pre-booking online is essential. Funds raised will be donated to FRANCO & KUSASA, two charities that operate and support children in the Franschhoek area.

WeatherThe tram is fairly well protected from the rain but on rare occasions, the service may be canceled due to weather conditions or mechanical problems without notice in which case full refunds will be issued.
What to WearWe will be traveling with open windows for your safety, please wear warm comfortable clothes & shoes on cold days.

Guests or SpectatorsGuests will arrive at the Franschhoek Terminal, welcomed by festive music, delicious food and drink offerings, and general Christmas cheer. Departures via the double-decker tram will start at 8:20 pm, and guests will hop onto the Tram at their allocated booking time for a 30-minute journey, experiencing a specially choreographed festive light display on each side of the Tram tracks.

Inclusions

Entrance to the Franschhoek Wine Tram terminal on the night of your booking (access to festivities at the Franschhoek terminal).
A 30-minute tram experience at your allocated booking time.

Exclusions

All food and drink – please note that this needs to be paid for separately from the food offerings / Café Beignet, and is not included in your booking.
Chauffeur / Transfer – Please note that transfers are not available for this event. Your own transport needs to be arranged.
