The Purple Line tour includes a journey on a double-decker railway tram and a tram-bus. The tour showcases the picturesque western region of the Franschhoek Valley with stops at:

The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on-hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley – picturesque vineyards, breathtaking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines, and a 300-year history.

We now also offer exclusive transfers from Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl and surrounds at very affordable rates which collects you at your specified address. Please see the zones below in terms of the collection areas included within our pricing structure.

WeatherBoth the tram and tram-bus are fairly well protected from the rain but on the rare occasion the service may be cancelled due to weather conditions or mechanical problems without notice in which case full refunds will be issued.

In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV. Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-15 minutes prior to your departure time. Where to Park? Parking available at the Franschhoek Terminal. Purple and Orange line passengers who wish to depart from our Groot Drakenstein ticket office can park their cars at the station located on the corner of the R45 and R310 roads. Please note our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari type vehicles. All clients travelling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. In order to avoid disappointment, we advise passengers to make lunch reservations at least 24 hours in advance of travel. Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour. CANCELLATION POLICY (All Service including chauffer/transfer services): 7 days + = 100% REFUND 1 - 7 days = 50% REFUND Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.

Inclusions and Exclusions

Inclusions

Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.

Exclusions

Wine tasting, lunch and other activities at each stop are excluded unless noted as included on our website.
Chauffer/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.

Notes

Please note transfer bookings to be made a minimum of 24 hours before your tour.

To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance.

Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-15 minutes prior to your departure time.
