With the Exceptional Wine & Cuisine Experience, guests are treated to a day of exceptional luxury, travelling via tram and tram-bus to 3 different pairing experiences.
Guests depart from the Franschhoek Terminal at 10:15 am and enjoy a complimentary coffee and Beignet while awaiting their departure. Guests travel via tram and tram bus to three pre-selected wine estates.
Throughout the course of the day, guests are treated to a number of pairing experiences, including a breakfast pairing, a MCC & truffle pairing, an indulgent food & wine pairing lunch, and a dessert & wine pairing. After a full day of food, wine and festivities, guests return to the Franschhoek Terminal at approximately 5 pm.
The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.

Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund

Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.

Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients travelling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. I and my party, totalling three, greatly enjoyed the Exceptional Wine & Cuisine Experience. The three vineyards visited were outstanding, with three vineyards being the right number for an active, informative and entertaining day but without making us feel rushed. The staff at each of the vineyards showed expert knowledge about the qualities, and the details of the winemaking process, of each of the wines tasted. They also showed expert knowledge about cheese, and more broadly, food pairings for the wins. The cheeses and cuisine were of the highest standard throughout and enjoyed in the unsurpassed scenery of the Franschhoek valley and its vineyards. Transport by the tramway or on open-air buses was also quite pleasant and the transfer arrangements to and from the Cape Town area went smoothly, despite the extensive local roadworks being carried out.
