With the Exceptional Wine & Cuisine Experience, guests are treated to a day of exceptional luxury, travelling via tram and tram-bus to 3 different pairing experiences.
Guests depart from the Franschhoek Terminal at 10:15 am and enjoy a complimentary coffee and Beignet while awaiting their departure. Guests travel via tram and tram bus to three pre-selected wine estates.
Throughout the course of the day, guests are treated to a number of pairing experiences, including a breakfast pairing, a MCC & truffle pairing, an indulgent food & wine pairing lunch, and a dessert & wine pairing. After a full day of food, wine and festivities, guests return to the Franschhoek Terminal at approximately 5 pm.
The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.

Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.

Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients travelling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. Extensive roadworks in Franschhoek, Drakenstein, Simondium, and Klapmuts may cause delays. Please factor this into your travel plans to the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Service may be affected on your booking day.

My wife Amanda and I had the pleasure of joining this tour during our honeymoon in Cape Town, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The entire experience was exceptionally well organized, and every winery we visited was outstanding. We started the day at Pasarene, where we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast paired with an excellent wine tasting. Next, we visited Grand Provence for lunch, which offered delicious food, fantastic wines, and impeccable service. The day ended at Klein Goederust with a delightful nougat and wine pairing that was both unique and memorable. Throughout the day, we were impressed by the quality of the wines, the beautiful scenery, the warm hospitality, and the excellent food at each stop. We also had the opportunity to meet wonderful people, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A special mention goes to our guide, who was absolutely exceptional---friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about the region and its wines. She truly made the day unforgettable. This tour is simply the best way to see the vineyards of Franschhoek - the whole day was just perfect with visits to beautiful vineyards, plenty of wonderful wine and fantastic food. Our guide (Courtney) was very friendly and knowledgeable and kept the group on track without any stress. The reps at the vineyards were equally good (especially at Paserene - https://paserene.com/) It is quite an expensive tour but 100% worth it, so much so that I have now done it twice! - Jim
