With the Exceptional Wine & Cuisine Experience, guests are treated to a day of exceptional luxury, travelling via tram and tram-bus to 3 different pairing experiences.
Guests depart from the Franschhoek Terminal at 10:15 am and enjoy a complimentary coffee and Beignet while awaiting their departure. Guests travel via tram and tram bus to three pre-selected wine estates.
Throughout the course of the day, guests are treated to a number of pairing experiences, including a breakfast pairing, a MCC & truffle pairing, an indulgent food & wine pairing lunch, and a dessert & wine pairing. After a full day of food, wine and festivities, guests return to the Franschhoek Terminal at approximately 5 pm.
The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.

24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund

Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.

Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients travelling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. The day started with a warm welcome at the main tram hub in Franschhoek, which included a hot drink of your choice, a bottle of water and a sweet pastry. We received a personal briefing of the day's events by our host, the lovely Angar (?). There were fourteen people on our experience, surprisingly all British, and we quickly got to know them. The formalities start with bespoke coach and tram rides to the first vineyard. The was a small and newish venue. We were hoping to travel to the historic vineyards to sample the best wines in the region from the off but this was something a bit different, The staff were very welcoming, the breakfast small plates delicious and were nicely matched with the wines. A pleasant start but no wines purchased. The second vineyard was the highlight of the day. We toured much of the facility (this could have been a bit shorter - other guests were getting bored) before sitting down for a fabulous lunch. The wines here were very good and the staff were happy to 'top up your glass' if there was a particular favourite. Oysters as an amuse-bouche, two delicious starters to choose from and a main of lamb neck (fish and vegetarian options available) were my choices. Each course and wine expertly introduced by a waiter. Delicious. Wine was purchased here! The final vineyard was a bit of an anticlimax. It was a bit rushed, wines were pre-poured and it lacked that elegant and exclusive feel of an expensive but thoroughly enjoyable day. It certainly didn't spoil the day but we could have finished with something special. We returned back the tram hub at around 5.30pm to conclude the day. With a few tweaks it could be even better, Thanks to our drivers and especially our host, she was very professional and remained highly engaged throughout the day. - Simon

It was a lovely well organised day, from greeting us right to the end. We met a bunch of great people and went to estates we probably wouldn't have visited. The wine pairing was good and the food exceptional. The host Simon did a good job informing the group about timings and when / where to meet. Basically all was prepared, you just turn up and enjoy the day. - Lynda
