The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. My husband and I had a wonderful time using the services. Fist the blue line bus, then the tram. What a great idea to keep people from drinking and driving. The bus and tram were perfectly timed, and ran like clockwork. The employees were all friendly and very helpful. The vineyards we visited on the blue line had some nice offerings. Would highly recommend this service. Fun way to mingle with others as well. PRO tip, if you have a person you can share a tasting with, do it. That way you can enjoy more wineries without ending up with a hangover ;o)... - Lisa
The wine tram was one of our favorite activities in South Africa! It was easy to get there from Cape Town, had tons of winery options, and was such a unique & beautiful way to see the Franschhoek wine region. Would highly recommend! - Maggie

Absolutely loved the experience whilst on my first trip to South Africa. Everything operated like clockwork, the information provided was excellent. I enjoyed the information provided by staff who were very helpful and friendly and at no time did the day seem hurried. I did visit during low season which I did enjoy as it was quieter. Overall a very relaxed experience and indeed very professional. I would certainly like to visit again. Perhaps staying on a nearby farm. - Pamela
