Customer Reviews

A pleasant experience, something that should be done if you visit Franschhoek. We only travelled on the Tram, which is a short run up and down the line, but it's well run and ties in with the various vineyards and their own transports to their wineries. It got quite busy at one point but everyone got on board. - NEIL

We loved it and will definitely do it again - Sarah

Fabulous experience on the tram, was surprised that it didn't go very far, but that was no problem. - Martin

A Delightful Day on the Franschhoek Wine Tram -- Tram First Route We had an unforgettable day exploring Franschhoek on the Wine Tram, following the tram-first route with stops that showcased the region's charm and diversity. Our first stop was Rickety Bridge, where we enjoyed a fabulous MCC tasting. The sparkling wines were elegant, vibrant, and expertly presented---what a sparkling way to kick off the day! The estate itself is scenic and welcoming, with friendly staff who made the experience extra special. Next, we visited Grand Provence, which was a true delight. We enjoyed some of their standout wines, then had a leisurely picnic lunch in their beautiful gardens. The combination of stunning views, excellent food, and relaxed ambiance made this stop absolutely memorable. We then stopped at Franschhoek Cellar. While still enjoyable, it was a little less remarkable compared to the earlier estates. The tastings were pleasant, but the setting and wine range felt more commercial. It was still worth the visit, especially for variety. Our final stop was La Bri, where I enjoyed a unique chocolate and and red wine pairing, while my husband opted for the lokum and red wine. This was a charming, indulgent way to end the day - and possibly the highlight in therms of the wine. The sweet pairings were creative, and the terrace setting made it feel special and idyllic. Overall, the Franschhoek Wine Tram offers a perfectly paced, scenic, and varied experience. From sparkling MCCs to indulgent chocolate pairings, it's a wonderful way to explore this beautiful wine region. Highly recommended! ? - Claire
