Customer Reviews

Fabulous experience. Great fun - great wines and met some lovely people on the journey - Clodagh

Very good wine tasting experience Beautiful landscape with the trams and buses. Very well organised. Always on time. Everything was perfect. Safe, you can test the wines and use trams and buses to take you to accommodation safely. I will try again another line colour. - Didier

Lovely THANKYOU , what your guides could advise is - not all the wine farms offer free tastings, therefore before every stop advise if indeed there are free tastings , thanks dimi - Dimi

My experience on the Franschhoek Wine Tram was truly one of the highlights of my trip to South Africa. As a tourist visiting the Cape Winelands for the first time, I couldn't have asked for a better way to explore the region. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized. The tram itself is charming and beautifully maintained, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains as you travel between wine estates. It's such a relaxing and scenic way to experience the valley. Each wine estate I visited had its own unique character, from elegant and historic to modern and boutique-style. The hop-on, hop-off system gives you flexibility to explore at your own pace, whether you want to linger over a tasting, enjoy a long lunch, or simply soak in the scenery. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Beyond the wine (which was exceptional!), what stood out most was the atmosphere, laid-back, beautiful, and perfectly curated for visitors. It felt indulgent without being pretentious, and it's ideal for couples, friends, or even solo travelers. If you're visiting Franschhoek, the Wine Tram is an absolute must-do. It's not just wine tasting, it's an experience that captures the beauty, flavor, and charm of the region all in one unforgettable day. - Tendai

What great fun. Highly recommended. We combined the tram and bus stopping at four vineyards which was about right. - Barry
