1 September – 01 November 2026: Red Line guests to be accommodated at Miko (Mont Rochelle). Guests for 09:40 and 10:40 will be accommodated in the bar area with limited seating available. From 11:40 am, guests will be accommodated in Main Restaurant area at Miko – Mont Rochelle.
The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund

Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Kindly take into consideration that some wine estates are cashless and require card payments only.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.

Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. Extensive roadworks in Franschhoek, Drakenstein, Simondium, and Klapmuts may cause delays. Please factor this into your travel plans to the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Service may be affected on your booking day.
We had such a fantastic experience on the Franschhoek Wine Tram, and what really stood out was how seamless, fun and well-organised the entire journey was. We booked the Red Line, starting with the bus at 9:30am. Collecting our tickets at the Franschhoek Terminal was effortless, with friendly staff who clearly explained how everything worked. Our bus host was equally welcoming, giving us a little insight into each estate and making the drop-off and pick-up process very easy to understand. We visited two estates on the bus route --- Haute Cabriere and Lynx --- before moving onto the tram. The tram itself was definitely a highlight. Although the tram route is short, they start by taking you to the furthest estate, giving you an extra ride to enjoy the beautiful Franschhoek scenery, complete with a little wine tasting along the way. The atmosphere on board was lively, fun and infectious, with the staff really adding to the experience. We visited Franschhoek Cellar and Grand Provence on the tram route, including the fun tractor ride from the station to Grand Provence. After our tastings and lunch, we returned to Franschhoek Cellar before taking the tram back to the terminal. What impressed us most was the attention to detail throughout the day. The buses and tram were consistently prompt, the staff regularly checked in with passengers, and they even collect any wine you purchase and safely take it back to the central station, meaning you don't have to carry your bottles around all day. At the end, they also made sure everyone knew about the shuttle service into town. From start to finish, the whole operation felt incredibly efficient without ever losing the fun and relaxed atmosphere. The staff genuinely make the experience --- friendly, attentive and enthusiastic throughout. The Franschhoek Wine Tram is such a wonderful way to explore the valley, and we would absolutely cannot wait to return and explore the other lines. - Sandrisha
