The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Kindly take into consideration that some wine estates are cashless and require card payments only.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. The tram service was great and we enjoyed the whole experience. We did have a lunch appointment which we made but the redline tram departs and returns to the main depot separately each way - great to see the whole route but we were not informed prior to departure - may be useful for other travelers. Really enjoyed our day on the red line; we went to a variety of estates and were surprised by which we personally liked the best for atmosphere and ambience as well as the wine. We expected the transport to be packed as the day was fully booked but were very pleased to find that there was still comfortable room to move around. Staff were unfailingly cheerful and helpful.
