The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. This trip was one of the best my husband and I have ever done. We chose the Red Line as there were a couple of vineyards we had visited previously that we wanted to go back to (Rickety Bridge & Lynx) . We went on the Bus first and then the tram. The whole trip was extremely well organised, there was someone on hand to ask about timings and even though you can get off at every stop you don't necessarily have to have a tasting. However, why waste the chance of an experience at different places. The fact that you can purchase wine and leave it with the drivers of the vehicles was great and you just picked it up at the end of your trip. All places visited were very scenic, the weather was great and the food served and platters offered were amazing. The staff at the vineyards are all so knowledgeable and this trip is a must for any wine lovers. The staff also at the Tram/Bus terminus were all helpful, welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. This trip also is not overly expensive and well worth booking in advance if you know you will be visiting Franschhoek, I can see why it is so popular and rest assured my husband and I will be booking a different root the next time we get chance to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and felt like this was truly a highlight of our Cape Town trip. The bus/tram was always on time, the staff were friendly and helpful and the wine estates were beautiful and very efficient. As South Africans, we were sceptical whether it was a tourist attraction that would not be enjoyed by South Africans but I can happily say that this experience is a MUST for tourists and South Africans alike! I have no complaints and will have the experience again when I visit Cape Town another time. - Hella

Wir hatten die rote Tour gebucht. Die Dame vom Ticket Verkauf hat uns sehr gut beraten. Das Personal im Bus und der Tram war super hilfsbereit und kompetent. Wir haben insgesamt sechs Weinguter besucht und in allen war die Beratung und die Erklarungen der jeweiligen Weine hervorragend. Wir haben die angebotenen Weinproben geteilt. Die Promille hielten sich so in Grenzen. Die Wein Tram war ein Highlight unseres Urlaubs. Wir konnen das jederzeit weiterempfehlen! Alle besuchten Weinguter vertreiben ihre Weine auch in Deutschland. - Vogl
