The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Kindly take into consideration that some wine estates are cashless and require card payments only.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. We had a great day, the weather was amazing to match the wine!! It was very well organised and started of with a little tasing of a white chenin blanc whilst we were in our way to the first vineyard which was Rickety Bridge. One of our party has bad knees so I was a bit worried but there was always someone there to take you from the station to the vineyard which was great so minimal walking for those with mobility issues. Rickety Bridge was lovely although the reds were a bit to light for us. We did the tram first and the bus second which suited us ending at Mont Rochelle which had beautiful views across to the mountains. I'd say it's a must for any wine lover visiting franscheok and I'm sure all of the lines are equally as good. - Jane

The Wine Tram is a great experience. Well organized from start to finish, the Wine Tram allows you or your group to experience the Wine Estates without hassle. I really like that you can walk from your hotel in Franschhoek to the tram terminal - which takes driving out of the equation! - John
