SPECIAL NOTE
As Boschendal estate is large, allow 2 hours at this venue. A farm vehicle will take you through a working estate to the wine-tasting area, which is +/- 20 min from the tram platform.

The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.

You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.

Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. This is really enjoyable day. We chose the three wine farms we wanted to go to and they fitted into the Orange line schedule 2. We organised the timing so as to arrive at the one for lunch (Boschendal) at around 1pm; where we had an enjoyable wine tasting followed by lunch in the excellent, Werf, restaurant. Before that we'd visited two other wine farms during the morning and had enjoyable wine tastings. The whole day was very well run with the professional and friendly staff smoothly running the transfers between locations. This is an exceptional experience and extraordinary value. It was just a shame that we didn't have more time to do some other of the routes. - Chris
Perfectly organized, including the transfer from Franschoek Square via Franschhoek Terminal to Drakensten Terminal. Extremely friendly stuff. The orange line passes by numerous wine estates set in beautiful scenery, offering a variety of activities, even for those who aren't particularly interested in wine tasting, all while enjoying a marvelous view of the mountains and gardens. Do not miss Babylonstoren and Boschendal. - Sabine

Just one more highlight of our visit to South Africa, Franchoek and the Wine Tram was magnificent. All the staff from ticket sales, to tram staff and tram guides were helpful and friendly throughout. We didn't pre-book a tram but we found that the option for 3 wineries was sufficient in a day, and once we came to terms with the tram schedule, coordinating our days was easier than we found on first viewing. All the vineyards were magnificent, and the quality of wine outstanding, especially the value for money. We did Orange, Red and Pink over three days and I would highly recommend the Wine Tram, whichever line and schedule you choose. - Martyn
