Customer Reviews

Once we understood how the system worked and what shuttle we needed to take to the bus station to the tram line, it was fun! Thank you. - Kelly

Amazing experience! Will certainly be back for the other routes too!! A must-do!!! - Zubeida

We took the orange line at 9.30am with two tween/teenagers in tow and were greeted by very jovial staff handing out a Rose taster first thing- great start to the day!! Our tour guide was bubbly, informative and exuberant. We stopped at Nobel Hill and enjoyed a short tasting with cheese platter, the children wandered the grounds. The staff were pleasent but not that interactive. We loved the bubbles and rose so bought a bottle of each. Great that you can leave the wine with the bus and collect it at the final destination. Next stop was Babylonstoren- wow what a beautiful estate. We wandered the huge grounds and enjoyed meeting the donkeys. By now the children were hungry so we stopped at The Greenhouse for breakfast, gorgeous setting and food was fast and tasty. My kids loved runnning around the fountain and we visited the cheese and meat rooms but sadly did not par take in the wine tasting (did manage a glass at breakfast, as you do) as we ran out time. I would highly recommend staying here for 2 hours if you have children as there is much to keep them amused. Onwards to Vrede En Lust. This was actually our favourite tasting and for us the best wines. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable without being obnoxious and we actually had quite a laugh with him. We enjoyed a salami platter and sat on the patio with lovely mountain views. We purchased a few bottles of the wine from this estate as its that good. There is a small playground which my younger son enjoyed. Last stop was Boschendal, its huge so take a couple of hours here. My kids took off with hired bikes and toured around while the adults enjoyed two tastings, one at the Farm Shop & Butchery and one further along at Werf Restaurant. Werf has an amazing view and we saw familys on horseback. The kids also loved climbing in the huge trees. So everyone one was happy. At this point we had to make the last tram back to Groot, the day flies by and we wished we could stay longer. This trip was one of our favourite in SA and even the teens seemed to enjoy being outside in beautiful grounds. At first we thought the tram/wine estate information was a little overwhelming so we gave up trying to understand it and just jumped right in. Once you arrive at Groot you are guided every step of the way, so I would recommend not trying to overplan and just get swept along in the magic. Thank you to all the staff we encountered, we had a fabulous day. - Charles

We had a great day wine tasting. The weather was excellent, the tram and trolleys were fun, and the service at the vineyards was very good. - Don

Great experience! Loved being able to choose which wineries to go to and it's so easy to jump on and off. The staff were great and views incredible! - Lindsey
