SPECIAL NOTE
As Boschendal estate is large, allow 2 hours at this venue. A farm vehicle will take you through a working estate to the wine-tasting area, which is +/- 20 min from the tram platform.

The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.

24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Kindly take into consideration that some wine estates are cashless and require card payments only.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.

You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.

Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. Extensive roadworks in Franschhoek, Drakenstein, Simondium, and Klapmuts may cause delays. Please factor this into your travel plans to the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Service may be affected on your booking day.
Wine Tram Educational Experience Feedback Report Educational Visit: Orange Line Date: 24 June 2026 Participants: Grande Provence Front of House Team Overall Experience On behalf of the Grande Provence team, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Wine Tram management for arranging this educational experience. The Orange Line itinerary provided an excellent opportunity to experience the diversity of Franschhoek's wine estates, hospitality standards, wine offerings, and guest experiences. The day was exceptionally well organised, and the transport between estates was smooth, comfortable, and punctual. The experience gave us valuable insight into different service styles, storytelling techniques, tasting presentations, and visitor engagement, all of which will help us improve our own guest experience. Highlights Hospitality We experienced warm and professional welcomes from Wine Tram staff and each estate. Staff members were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their products, creating memorable interactions throughout the day. Wine Knowledge The tastings were informative and well presented. It was valuable to learn about the different winemaking philosophies, grape varieties, and the stories behind each estate. Estate Diversity One of the greatest strengths of the Orange Line is that every stop offers something different, from modern wine experiences to historic estates, beautiful gardens, farm experiences, and exceptional architecture. This variety keeps the journey exciting for visitors. Organisation The timing between stops was well managed, allowing sufficient opportunity to enjoy each experience without feeling rushed. Learning Outcomes This educational trip has provided our team with valuable ideas that we can implement at Grande Provence, including: Enhancing storytelling during wine tastings. Creating stronger emotional connections with guests. Improving product knowledge. Observing different approaches to upselling experiences. Understanding how each estate communicates its unique identity and brand. Conclusion The educational experience exceeded our expectations and proved to be both informative and inspiring. It allowed us to experience Franschhoek from the perspective of our guests while learning from some of the valley's leading wine estates. It was my favourite thing I did of my whole trip to the Cape. It was a pity that the tram was out of service and we could only use the tram for the last two estates. But overall it was still an amazing experience and definitely worth the money! I highly recommend to do it when you visit the Cape. Perfect for couples, friends and family!! - Melissa
