SPECIAL NOTE
As Boschendal estate is large, allow 2 hours at this venue. A farm vehicle will take you through a working estate to the wine-tasting area, which is +/- 20 min from the tram platform.

The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Kindly take into consideration that some wine estates are cashless and require card payments only.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. Extensive roadworks in Franschhoek, Drakenstein, Simondium, and Klapmuts may cause delays. Please factor this into your travel plans to the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Service may be affected on your booking day.
Esperienza molto positiva. Il tram e davvero carino e ci siamo divertiti molto. Il personale e gentilissimo, sia in "stazione" che sul tram. Ci hanno anche offerto un calice di rosso prima della prima tappa in cantina. Siamo riusciti a visitare le cantine che volevamo con tutta calma. Abbiamo comprato del vino e ce l'hanno conservato in deposito fino alla fine del nostro tour in modo da non dover portarci dietro le bottiglie tra una cantina e l'altra. Super consigliato! - Sara

Great experience on the wine tram - team was super professional, warm and welcoming from making my booking (a change in dates was required), to the team at the Drakenstien station and the team on the trams. I'd recommend the wine trams to anyone wanting to experience the wine farms in the region in an orderly and guided manner. What a fantastic day was had on the Franschoek Wine Tram! From beginning to end, I cannot fault the tram nor any of the stops at our chosen wine estates. The wine tram is exceptionally well organised. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, going out of their way to answer any questions, make recommendations or to help you to navigate your way to and from the tram. We were so pleased to get off the shuttle transfer, en route to the wine tram, at a newly added wine estate - Klein Goederust. What a gem! The story behind this estate is brilliant and the redevelopment work is impressive. My husband and I were the only people there and we loved it. Sat in the snug-style bar area, fire going, we were treated to an excellent selection of wines. The day continued in this vein. The service and selection at all of the estates was top-notch: Klein Goederust, Lust and Vrede, Bacco and Boschendal. The day goes quickly. The hour at each estate was leisurely as we chose to enjoy wine tastings and platters. You definitely need a minimum of two hours if you choose to walk around and explore any of the wine estates, particularly the larger ones. Personally, I plan to go back to the larger estates for a day visit and loved the hop-on, hop-off approach to visiting multiple estates in a day. Also, thank you for the great service in taking your wine purchases and safely delivering them to the Groot Drakenstein depot for collection at the end of the day. - Deanne
