SPECIAL NOTE
As Boschendal estate is large, allow 2 hours at this venue. A farm vehicle will take you through a working estate to the wine-tasting area, which is +/- 20 min from the tram platform.

The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. This was a very relaxing and wonderful experience! As local Capetonians, we were sceptical about the whole experience and if iit will not just be a "tourist trap", but we were pleasantly surprised!! After taking time to read and understand the different lines, different farms and how the day and booking work, the booking and payment went smoothly. We picked a specific line, we picked 4 farms we definitely wanted to visit, and then planned the day and bus/trem times accordingly. Just don't try to squeeze in all the farms listed on you line, since a day is just too short and the places to visit too beautiful! On the day, all personel were very friendly and helpful throughout the day and on all rides. The different wine farms welcomed us warmly and all orders of wine tastings or food were done fast and in such a way to ensure we catch the next ride. I can recommend this wine trem/bus experience whole heartedly, both to local South Africans and tourists! We are planning go again and do the other lines and visit other farms. - Magdaleen
I think this is a must do activity if you are in the area, in fact i would of had more time, i would have done it again to try a different line. I did the Navy Blue, the time table is really easy to follow and the ticket office staff were so helpful in their recommendation of which wineries to visit. Bartinney was a highlight for me for the amazing views, Vrede en Lust also had spectacular food and bakery and i loved the farm shop at Boshendal. The whole experience was wonderful. - Nicola

We loved this experience and can't wait to come back and try some of the other routes. The wineries were fabulous, but we also really appreciated the friendliness, helpfulness and efficiency of all of your staff members. It was really happy, hassle-free day and the scenery was amazing.
