Customer Reviews

Having experienced a busy day as part of a large group of over 30 travelling on the Pink Line on 23 February, on 24 February 4 of us had a very relaxed and pleasant experience on the Navy line. We had managed, albeit with some difficulty, to work out in advance of travelling from England the schedule of the shuttle from the Franschhoek to the Groot Drakenstein terminal, together with whether to travel first on the tram or the bus and the timetable timings in order to make the pre bookings required for both wine tasting and lunch at Le Pommier. We deliberately chose to only visit two estates and we were extremely impressed with our choices - Vrede & Lust and Le Pommier. Due to an early start, 2 of our group enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Vrede & Lust whilst 2 of us enjoyed the wine tasting. The setting was stunning and the wines excellent. The staff provided helpful, and knowledgeable yet understandable explanations of the wines. Suffice to say this was the only estate over 2 days of using the wine tram where we actually made a wine purchase! We then travelled to Le Pommier which proved to be yet another amazingly beautiful location. We thoroughly enjoyed an excellent wine tasting before moving to the restaurant courtyard for a leisurely, delectable lunch. The chicken pot pie is thoroughly recommended. There were other beautiful estates on the Navy line which we wished we had time to visit - Boschendal, Zorgvliet and Allee Bleue but none of these deserve to be rushed. In our opinion, the Navy line is highly recommended. - Ray

Our Wine Tram experience was phenomenal! From start to finish, every vineyard we stopped at had its own beauty and uniqueness. The hospitality and staff were amazing. We stopped off at 4 different vineyards and enjoyed a picnic at one, walk at the other and wine tasting too. Overall, a very great experience. - Maryam
