SPECIAL NOTE
As Boschendal estate is large, allow 2 hours at this venue. A farm vehicle will take you through a working estate to the wine-tasting area, which is +/- 20 min from the tram platform.

The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Kindly take into consideration that some wine estates are cashless and require card payments only.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the journey. The bus ride itself was smooth and gave us a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Franschhoek before connecting with the tram. The transition between bus and tram was effortless, and the entire route was thoughtfully planned to showcase some of the best wineries in the valley. What stood out most was the balance between relaxation and discovery -- we never felt rushed, yet there was plenty of time to explore and enjoy tastings at each stop. The commentary and guidance along the way added extra charm, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. Overall, the Navy Line -- Bus First was a perfect way to experience the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Unique experience and a wonderful, safe and relaxing way to explore and enjoy the local area and wineries. Staff at the office were fantastic, patiently exlaining how the day and schedule would work. Alot of information to impart and absorb. Given the amount of lines and people to accommodate the organisation was exceptional. We would definitely repeat on another line in the future and in the main felt the day provided good value for money from an experience and transport perspective although I would say I thought the mouthful measure of wine you receive on the tram could have been a bit more generous. Its seemed more of a PR prop rather than a special treat for passengers to enjoy and sip as the beautiful countryside passed by. That said it is what it is and all ur staff onboard were friendly whilst at the same time maintaining boundaries and behaviour to ensure the safety and well-being of a large number of customers some of whom were naturally in very high spirits. Overall a 9 out of 10 experience so much thanks and appreciation to the Frankschoek Wine Tram Team is due and well deserved. :-) - Steve
