SPECIAL NOTE
As Boschendal estate is large, allow 2 hours at this venue. A farm vehicle will take you through a working estate to the wine-tasting area, which is +/- 20 min from the tram platform.

The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.
CANCELLATION POLICY (All services including chauffeur/transfer services):
24 hours + = 100% REFUND
Less than 24 hours before scheduled TIME SLOT = No Refund
Please send a cancellation email to info@winetram.co.za including your booking ID on the subject to request a refund.
Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. To avoid disappointment, it is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance. Food or open alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the tour though food and drinks are available for purchase at the wine estates. Wine tastings can be purchased at each wine estate directly. Kindly take into consideration that some wine estates are cashless and require card payments only.
Tickets are to be collected on the day of your tour. Please be at the Ticket Office +/-20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Please take note that pets are not permitted on the tour.
Transportation from the ticket office to each of the wine estates on your route.
You will also receive a daily offerings card which will include any specials/discounts for the day.
Wine tasting, lunch, and other activities at each stop.
Chauffeur/Transfer – Please note transfers are added at an additional cost to your booking.
Please note all our tours are not wheelchair friendly as the vehicles are all safari-type vehicles. All clients traveling with us need to be mobile due to stairs in all vehicles as well as accessibility at the wine estates. Extensive roadworks in Franschhoek, Drakenstein, Simondium, and Klapmuts may cause delays. Please factor this into your travel plans to the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Service may be affected on your booking day.
We originally booked the Pink Line but unfortunately missed our scheduled reservation date. The customer service team was incredible---they accommodated us and rescheduled our booking for the Green Line the very next day without any hesitation. The experience itself was wonderful. The staff and conductors on board the tram and tram-buses were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Since we were traveling with our young child, the team went out of their way to recommend the most family- and kid-friendly wine estates along the route. Their suggestions made our day completely stress-free, relaxed, and enjoyable for both us and our little one. Beautiful scenery, smooth logistics, and five-star hospitality. Sehr schoner Ausflugsort - grandiose Aussicht - sehr schone Weinguter mit uberragendem vine-tasting und Essen zu gunstigen Preisen und guter Qualitat. Ein muss ist die Fahrt mit der Doppeldeckerstrassenbahn. Beim nachsten Kapstadturlaub werden wir es nochmals machen, dann mit anderen Weingutern. Denn mehr als 3 packt man nicht, da es an den einzelnen Orten so schon ist. - Jürgen
When we presented our ticket your records showed it had been canceled. We were supposed disappointed. However your associate took care of the matter and my friend & I were able to experience the Blue Line that I had originally booked. We thank her for such customer service. I unfortunately did not get her name. The customer experience was amazing! We loved each vineyard we visited! We especially enjoyed meeting the owner of the only African owned vineyard and his family's story. If I find myself in South Africa again we will be back to visit Franschhoek's wine tram. - Amy

From start to finish, everything was so well organised and enjoyable. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was relaxed and beautifully paced. The Green Line took us through the stunning Franschhoek Valley, with breathtaking scenery, beautiful wine estates and, of course, some wonderful wines along the way.
