Franschhoek Valley:
Breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, and fine wines: These are the hallmarks of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. When the Huguenots first settled in this spectacular valley over 300 years ago, they brought with them their traditions and knowledge in winemaking and viticulture from their native France and transformed the wilderness around them into one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. This proud heritage can be seen and felt today in the Village and on the surrounding farms.

The fertile Franschhoek Valley is home to some of South Africa’s noble cultivars and classic styles. These range from superb whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc, to the full-bodied reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.

Great Tour and Guide - steffen hauser

Hello We as a group of 13 persons. Including a wheelchair. The wheatherconditions was not the best fire us during our week in Sa. But luckely it was a brigth day when we should partisipate a hole day winetour with WineTram, Franschoek. We was given a Roger as our guide fore hole day. And what a guy. Big knowledge, good humor, helpful and smiley. As all the other employee we met was great hosts. We all had a great tour, lots of good wines, exiting seenery in the vally. And a Ok lunch. This was my second time with the Tram. And would say that this time was Rickety Bridge our favour experiense. But the art by Grand Provence was hilghly apprised. At La Bri our was my last visite better. A bit crowded this time - and a outside table. But all over. I will reccomend this tour fore other Norwegians on tour in Franschoek. Tanks to Trasy who let us expand the group to 13 persons. - Jon Rasten

We loved our Wine Experience at Franschoek. Despite the continual rain it was nonetheless a great day. The organisation was excellent, the venues were diverse and interesting and our tour guide was well informed, funny and very personable. Our fellow travellers from all around the world were great company and we had lots of fun. Well done and we sill certainly recommend this tour. - Bruce Craven
