Franschhoek Valley:
Breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, and fine wines: These are the hallmarks of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. When the Huguenots first settled in this spectacular valley over 300 years ago, they brought with them their traditions and knowledge in winemaking and viticulture from their native France and transformed the wilderness around them into one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. This proud heritage can be seen and felt today in the Village and on the surrounding farms.

The fertile Franschhoek Valley is home to some of South Africa’s noble cultivars and classic styles. These range from superb whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc, to the full-bodied reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.

Customer Reviews

Hi all! Had an absolutely awesome experience! Organisation, scenery, knowledgeable guide, superb lunch, d2d transfer, friendly people, relaxing atmosphere, stunning farms and wines, in brief everything was above expectations! Will be back for sure! Regards, Gulim & Assem from Kazakhstan - Gulim Wheddon

Would thoroughly recommend. Great guide and three interesting and varied wine tastings. The lunch was quite ordinary (fish and chips or pork belly) but in lovely surroundings. Nice to chat with the others on the trip. - Paul Rodford

We had a lovely day on the curated wine tour. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable, the arrangements were seamless, and the group worked well together. Fabulous weather helped make the most of the beautiful scenery. - Judith Paxton

It was an excellent tour. The guide was really good. We did three wineries all of which were good and the lunch included was good too. Definitely when confronted with so many choices it is the bes one to do - Mike James

It was an enjoyable experience. Roger was a pleasant and knowledgeable host. The meal provided was excellent and provided a good opportunity to become acquainted with the other members of the tour. I have some grape growing and wine making experience and would have appreciated a more extensive look at those operations but I understand that would have been beyond the scope of a tour such as this. - David Steuart
