Franschhoek Valley:
Breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, and fine wines: These are the hallmarks of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. When the Huguenots first settled in this spectacular valley over 300 years ago, they brought with them their traditions and knowledge in winemaking and viticulture from their native France and transformed the wilderness around them into one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. This proud heritage can be seen and felt today in the Village and on the surrounding farms.
The fertile Franschhoek Valley is home to some of South Africa’s noble cultivars and classic styles. These range from superb whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc, to the full-bodied reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.
The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.

What a fantastic day we had. If you want to go on a wine tasting tour this is the trip to do. We were in a group of 12 which was so well organised by our guide. We went to 3 vineyards where we tasted great wines, ate some great food and made some great memories. Couldn't fault this trip, it was such a fun day out. - Debbie
Fantastic experience, great group interactions. Wonderful day out, would highly recommend to anyone!! - Sinead
This was a GREAT way to experience the beauty of Franschhoek wineries! We were a fairly small group with our own guide who greeted us at the departure station and brought us beignets and coffees. He was fun and knowledgeable and the whole group really hit it off. The tram and train were cute and fun. The wines we tasted were amazing as was the food. Each of the 3 wineries we visited was perfect for the experience planned! Highly recommend!! - Kathleen
