Franschhoek Valley:
Breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, and fine wines: These are the hallmarks of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. When the Huguenots first settled in this spectacular valley over 300 years ago, they brought with them their traditions and knowledge in winemaking and viticulture from their native France and transformed the wilderness around them into one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. This proud heritage can be seen and felt today in the Village and on the surrounding farms.
The fertile Franschhoek Valley is home to some of South Africa’s noble cultivars and classic styles. These range from superb whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc, to the full-bodied reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Petit Verdot, and Merlot.
The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.

I had such a great experience on the Curated Wine Tour. Our guide was delightful. She was knowledgable and very experienced. She was well organized and made sure we had the best possible experience. Everyone in the group was so interesting and fun. I enjoyed the wineries and the tastings. Having the lunch and snacks along with the wines added to the experience. I would do this again if I have the opportunity to be in the Franschhoek again. - Katy
A great day, with a great guide ! Interesting visits, fun and beautiful ! And good wines ! - CONY
We had an excellent day on the Curated Wine Experience. The 3 wineries we visited were well chosen. But the best part was our guide Courtney who had an extensive knowledge of the wines and wineries and was also so friendly and really made the day special for us - Stewart
Wow, what a great, informative, curated wine experience we enjoyed recently. Huge thanks to Simon whose knowledge and expertise in wines and wine making was outstanding. He explained the processes extremely well with facts and humour along the way. Nothing was rushed, always time for questions and tasting the wines. We especially liked being in a small group of 12, visiting 3 vineyards was perfectly pitched and the lunch was simply delicious and relaxing . Good choices on the menu and wines paired beautifully. The short ride on the Train to the final vineyard finished off our day in a rather special way. It's the 2nd time we have done this trip and thanks to Simon this was the best. - Mike
Our wine experience was led by Catherine who was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic which made for a very interesting and enjoyable day. We toured the cellars at each of the 3 wineries we visited. At the first winery we had a tutored tasting led by Catherine and an aroma experience which was excellent. A great day for wine lovers and those wanting to learn more. - Karen
