Franschhoek Valley:
Breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, and fine wines: These are the hallmarks of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. When the Huguenots first settled in this spectacular valley over 300 years ago, they brought with them their traditions and knowledge in winemaking and viticulture from their native France and transformed the wilderness around them into one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. This proud heritage can be seen and felt today in the Village and on the surrounding farms.
The fertile Franschhoek Valley is home to some of South Africa’s noble cultivars and classic styles. These range from superb whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc, to the full-bodied reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Petit Verdot, and Merlot.
The tour is strictly a wine-tasting experience and does not host celebration events such as birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties as the estates visited are primarily wine-tasting venues and not party venues. In order to properly exercise their duties, the Franschhoek Wine Tram staff members place a legitimate expectation on all guests not to behave in an unacceptably loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated manner. Should any such behaviour be exhibited the Franschhoek Wine Tram reserves its right to suspend or withdraw its services. All vehicles are fitted with CCTV and monitored throughout the service.

We booked the curated wine tour which involved a trip to Mont Rochelle. La Brie and Grand Provence wineries. Most of the tour was spent at Mont Rochelle and included a fabulous 3 course lunch along with several wine tastings. The guide (Courtney) was wonderful, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to all guests and she imparted a great deal of information and advice about the wines we tasted and the area, history and practice of growing grapes. The visits to the vineyeards were all different and included a trip on the actual tram (and tractor) to Grand Provence. I can thoroughly reccomend the curated trip as it is an excellent way to introduce some of what Fransschoek has to offer - we would definitely return - Robert
One of the highlights of our holiday in S Africa. The curated wine experience was a great day, visiting 3 wine farms. Excellently hosted and guided by the lovely Tameron, who was extremely knowledgeable, the day was a blast from start to finish. The 3 course lunch at Mont Rochelle was excellent too. If you're in Franschhoek, book this tour. You won't regret it. - Martin
A super experience in every way. Our guide was very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. The venues were varied and of a high quality. Most enjoyable. Thank you. - William
It's been amazing experience. Well organised and very interesting to learn more about the region & wine. But it's ever better with Simon. Big thanks for his passion and dedication. Will for sure come back - PIOTR
Thoroughly enjoyed our day from start to finish! Greeted by Courtney, our host for the day; what an asset to your company, she is very professional, knowledgable and attentive with so much personality and humour! The transport was comfortable, all the drivers were 'safe hands'! We certainly felt like VIPs. Wonderful wine and food, ant every stop and our small group of just 8 people learned the wine making process from start to delicious finish! Great value for money, we definitely highly recommend this curated tour - Claire
